Museum and Independent Curators

Large museums have many curators, with each assigned to a specific art discipline, including prints and drawings, photography, painting, sculpture, visual art, modern and contemporary art, decorative art, fine art crafts, architecture and design, textiles, cross disciplinary platforms, performing arts, film and video, and new media. In smaller museums, one curator might handle all disciplines. A curator’s job is multifaceted.
